Welcome to the 2009 season with the Rosemont Jr. Wolverines:
The 2009 season will be our 12th and we are stronger than ever.  You will notice a few changes to our organization.  Change is a necessity to keep growing.

The most notable of the changes is that we are now a proud member of the Sacramento Youth Football League (SYF).  The league website is www.sacramentoyouthfootball.org

Why SYF:
For the past 5 years we were part of very reputable league, the Northern California Sports Alliance (NCSA).  We had great success in the NCSA sending 10 teams to the championship games and winning 4 of those games in our tenure.
But in the last 14 months the NCSA has lost its 4 most competitive programs which include Folsom, Oakridge, Elk Grove, and the mighty Jr. Wolverines.

The SYF consists of 20 teams that will be divided into 3 divisions. Each organization has 4 levels consisting of Jr. Pee Wee, Pee Wee, Jr. Midget and Midget with no high school students allowed.  Division 1 is the premier division and Division 3 is the starter division; the Jr. Wolverines will be a member of Division 1.

SYF is sometimes called the “No-Weight League”.  This is not true!  There are weight limits and they are very comparable to every other league in Northern California.  The only difference is that those designated as an      X-man have no maximum weight.  Please see age and weight chart below.

Level

Ages

Skill Player Weight

X-man Weight

Jr. PeeWee

6, 8

95 lbs. max

96 lbs. and up

PeeWee

9, 10

120 lbs. max

121 lbs. and up

Jr. Midget

11, 12

145 lbs. max

146 lbs. and up

Midget

13, 14

170 lbs. max

171 lbs. and up

One of the most important changes you will notice in the SYF is boundaries. If you played for the Jr. Wolverines last year the boundaries do not apply to you or your siblings.  If you will be new to our organization this year you must live in the boundaries that feed into Rosemont High School.
To see a map of our boundary go to: http://www.scusd.edu/operations_support/Maps/HSapproved0708detailV2.jpg

Note: Physicals must be dated no earlier than April 15, 2009
An original birth certificate or certified stamped copy of the original birth
certificate will be required of all participants as we are in a new league and ages must be verified by our new league.
